my roommate barks in her sleep. fml.

It wasn’t more than a week or two into the semester that I discovered an amusing idiosyncrasy: my roommate talks in her sleep. Lately, however, things have been getting a little… out of hand.

I get into bed last night around midnight and my roommate, right on cue, starts YELLING from across the room. Yeah. She yells names of people I don’t even know… something about Jenna and a pole and then all of a sudden: “FORRR-EVV-ERRRR!!” But there was a very specific inflection… Very reminiscent of this unforgettable scene from The Sandlot:

 

And let’s not forget last week, when she started yipping in her sleep. Yipping. As in…barking. Like a dog. I don’t need a youtube clip for this one. Just imagine an obnoxious, overly fluffy Papillion rat-dog shrieking its little face off.

Anyways, back to fashion. Outfit time! This is just something I threw together this morning (before running my tardy butt to class.) I paired the black and white polka dot skirt with a slightly larger patterned shirt in the same palette. I’m still working on my print mixing skills… Looks like Miss Spiridakis and I are on the same wavelength though, so that’s encouraging. I added the combat kicks for no reason other than that they make me feel badass.

The sunnies are the quintessential college shades… Mine say “Stay Classy 2014” on the earpiece which apparently is the witty tagline our class president came up with and subsequently uses as the sign-off for all of his emails. I enjoyed it when he accidently left off the “y” once and it just said “Stay Class, Jake…” Witty fail.

I don’t think we’ve fully appreciated the fact that I was woken up in the middle of the night to the sound of my roommate barking yet. Barking. THAT’S NOT NORMAL.

Also, please note that I’m not in the woods today. I’m creeping in the fire escape instead.

Nail polish is Moonstruck by Confetti. I’ve been on a quest for taupe polish—it’s hot right now—and this is the first success I’ve had. I found it on sale ($1) at CVS. It’s kind of a cross between brown, pink, and gray. And maybe a little lavender? It makes my brain hurt whenever I try to decide what color my fingernails are.
