On Thursday when I woke up I felt kind of blah, and couldn’t pick out an outfit (one of those days). BUT THEN I went running with the club team I joined and my buddy Earl kindly made the 95 degree weather take a break behind some clouds and it was AWESOME. The heat had literally been kicking my tush every day here. NOT ANYMORE. This weekend has been perfect weather for dressing up (although I missed out on a huge opportunity to get really fancy by not rushing), for running, for sitting out in the sunken gardens and taking psych notes, and for hitting up the Colonial Williamsburg farmer’s market (of which I will post gorgeous pictures as soon as my camera adapter arrives from home because I am a silly child and left it there).
OH and how could I forget about the excursion my hallmates and I took on Friday after class? We hopped on a bus (admittedly the wrong one) and rode for approximately 45 minutes to get to… CHICK-FIL-A! You might be wondering… why? (Especially considering there is one in the marketplace ON CAMPUS a mere five to ten minute walk from our dorm.) WELL. Basically there was a dispute of Chernobyl proportions between some of the girls in our hall as to whether or not Chick-Fil-A has a “special sauce.” The small franchise on campus has no such sauce, but my roommate insisted most adamantly that it was not a figment of her imagination (which I for one thought was highly likely). After a preliminary poll of random strangers in the dining hall, a small group of us decided that the only way to solve such an epic dilemma was to go straight to the source: that is, an official Chick-Fil-A. In the end, it was decided that while such a “Chick-Fil-A Sauce” DOES exist, it is basically just honey mustard. So it doesn’t really exist. And also the waffle fries dipped in said sauce are exquisite.
Anyways, what with the cooler weather and the fact that my 3D Foundations art class is in the fricking South Pole (and by that I mean that the AC is EXTREME), I found it necessary at the end of last week to break out the leggings! Hurricane-induced cold fronts = great excuse for pleather.
And yes, I am still wearing that same blue oxford shirt.
Tuesday I made plans with some friends to hit up another local thrift shop… !
shirt – Goodwill
tank – Target
leggings – Madewell
flats – DSW
bag – vintage
I think it is sometimes funny how we have to dress for indoor temps more than outdoor tempts. I have a class that is so frigid I feel like I should bring a winter coat even though it is still warm outside. Oh, well.
ReplyDeleteI like this outfit a lot.
